Vizionz An organization that brings kids from all different neighborhoods in Los Angeles together. Our goal is to bring children together and put them in a position to thrive in a world that is rapidly mixing our cultures. The organization will conduct itself like a summer camp. Inviting children from different neighborhoods and school districts to join in the immersion process. While there, the activities that undergo are placed to inform all the children of each others culture. I believe that this will bring up thought provoking questions and topics between campers. I am passionate about this organization because I truly believe if we target children for immersion then we can put ourselves in a position to be truly diverse in the future. This will be a place where we can truly have conversations about situations in our communities that would be otherwise eye opening or shocking to people that didn't know. I want this experience to be pure, and without outside influence. Wit

How I Killed Pluto -- Final Thoughts This book was very well written and conveyed feelings like they were as visible as the wall in front of me. Through the book, we watch as a man not only grows in his field but also as a man in general. A big theme that I took from this book is the parallel of his work with his family life that went hand in hand. It was very interesting how as the stories of Pluto and Xena were beginning to be laid out, so was his life. This book had some life lessons within it also. The lesson I learned from this book is that when one has passion about something, it attaches to you personally. The perfect example is the thought process that he had when talking to his wife about Xena. They were almost sad that they couldn't share the passion that they put into this planet with their daughter because it wasn't a planet at all. That was a beautiful depiction of how close they have actually gotten to their work. To the point where they disappointed in the fa

Random Post - Event Brainstorm Pool parties seem to be the scene nowadays. But for a pool party to really kick off it usually has to include either one of two things: A beautiful view A beautiful house But regardless, I feel like it would be lucrative. After making budget checks and bringing on sponsors, the event would be in reach. Properties in the Hollywood Hills are perfect locations. It is a perfect distance from our market, because although were dealing with mostly college students, it is summer. Distances seem shorter when you have less to do. Presales would be the main way that we would sell tickets. This is because we don't want a lot of commotion in the middle of the Hollywood Hills. There are a lot of winding narrow roads up that are perfect for traffic jams. To make a smooth entrance into the party, we would need to think of a way to make everyone either walk up the hill, or for cars to drop and keep it pushing. Expenses would be: Rental of the ven

Random Post -- Nightlife App The inspiration behind the app came from the weirdest place. When I was looking for apartments I was using all types of housing apps to find my next place of residence. I was also looking for venues for the next event that we had coming up. Zillow was the primary app that I drifted towards because it gave me a map of all the places that were available at the time. When I clicked on it, it gave me a set list of information that every future home owner should know. rent, amenities, contact info, etc. It made me think, "Why isn't it this easy to find out what you want to do at night?" Or in the day, or just in general? I wanted the app to be the hub for everything entertainment in LA, to the point where producers that have a wide market can reach way more people in this extremely dense city. Also, it will help consumers feel like their money won't be going to waste because they will know what they are getting themselves into before the

A WORLD WE DARE TO IMAGINE Part 1 To fix any part of our world, we must fix the smaller aspects before we focus on the bigger ones. If we go by this method, our first task is to evaluate ourselves. If we take a minute, even a second, of our days to look ourselves in the mirror and ask ourselves what we could be doing better as a human being, I believe our society would have some noticeable changes. The next step that could be a possible game changer within our plan to change the world, is to put more focus on the growth of our children. Yes, education is key. Having a child be more advanced than the international curve is always a benefit. But what about how this child interacts with other people. If I had the chance to make a program, it would be to have students from all social, economic, and geographic backgrounds come together to interact with each other. I think one of the problems we have is the stark differences in our communities. The best way to break down these ba

First Impressions of How I Killed Pluto Initially, I was very skeptical about how the book was going to go as far as keeping my attention. I am not the most avid reader. It takes a book of action and adventure to usually keep my attention for more than 30 minutes. But surprisingly I was hooked to this book after the prologue! His interest in the planets and the unknown seems to grow more and more through every page. I like how he prefaces his emotional connection that his research has from the very beginning. With the connection between his family and his research, you can see that there is a lot of passion that he has for the things that he loves. It is evident that he has a passion for not only the great beyond but pushing the envelope by how intrigued he was with the idea of a 10th planet. I'm very interested to see where this book goes.

Can I Control Your Mind? The Process of Event Facilitation and The Equation for Success Imagine this: there's a young woman (or man) that you're trying to impress. You ask them to come to your house for dinner. Before they come, you clean the house, play some mellow music, dim the lights, burn incense, doing everything you can to set the mood and make a good impression. You do all of the things to sway the person into seeing you in the image that you want to put across. Events are similar in that aspect. The main goal of any type of an event is to bring about a certain vibe that will resonate with each and every person attending. Whether it be a large party, fashion show, or a pop-up shop, in order for the event to be a success, the atmosphere must be infectious. The job of an Event Facilitator is to plan, gather resources, and produce the ambiance that is most effective for the task. In this article, we will break down creating an event into three steps: outlining the
